In a special edition of Meet our Core...
    MEET OUR STAFF!

Jason Rodney is the Superconductor, also known as Director of Education & Campaigns. He grew up in Cleveland Heights, OH, and has lived in Minneapolis for 10 years -- definitely not a meta-youth (under 17) anymore. At USACYC, Jason organizes for our racial justice campaign, high-fives the curriculum team, supports local #coopyouth clubs, shuffles papers, and brings in the grantcash. He’s really into collective liberation, and some tools that he loves on the way are Resource Generation, meditation, InterPlay, somatics & consensual snuggles with all sorts of species. He could be described as a fresh bowl of popcorn.

Jesus H Lucero is our DoME short for Director of Membership and Engagement. A recent graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa but a Colorado native and a newly dubbed Minneapolis transplantee. A Psychology major and double minor in Music and Women’s and Gender Studies, he did what any graduate does in this phase of transitioning… nothing related to what he studied, but he loves it! After spending a lot of his time in student government and working with residential life and other student organizations on campus, the next step was to level up and move into a world of direct action, education, and advocacy. Jesus is a lifelong foodie, experimenter, runner, yoga-loving, sexuality and gender advocate just trying to figure out this adulting game!

    Meet our Core!

Mehek Masood is better known as 3M. Mehek is one of our many wonderful new Core members joining us after our #amalgamation with Aynah. Mehek is a Minnesota girl at heart and generally loves the Twin Cities but she hails from the beautiful city of Rosemount. Mehek is a full time student of Law at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St Paul, MN and is heavily involved as an At-Large Representative for the Student Bar Association. When she isn’t busy hitting the books, Mehek can be found enjoying a great movie, more specifically an analytical Indie movie while enjoying a nice glass of wine (or whiskey). Mehek is joining our Governance Working Group as well as testing her toes in the Education and Finance and Development groups. If you ever want to talk to Mehek, don’t be shy to strike up a conversation about the Jurassic Park franchise because she can talk about them for dayzzzz. We’re more than excited to have this quirky and epically approachable person join our ranks of active and involved Core members.

    Meet our Core!

Casey Thomas is our very own superhero, DomestiCasey (but shh… undercover). Casey has been with CYC since 2014 and is currently residing in Greensboro, NC but has very real and wonderful ties to the East Coast (more specifically Queens). Casey is currently working with The University of North Carolina at Greensboro - UNCG as an Administrative worker for the Public Health Department after receiving her Masters in Public Health from UNC. Whether it’s binge watching Netflix (Bloodline and Stranger Things) or helping to build a food cooperative in the Greensboro neighborhood (Renaissance Community Co-op), Casey always finds ways to stay social, connected, and engaged and is truly a networking fairy out to make the world a better place.
